πΏβ¨ Meet StorySprout
Keuka Roots’ Official Christmas Elf
StorySprout is a tiny lakeshore elf with a heart stitched from wonder and a spirit rooted deep in the magic of Keuka Lake. She first appeared on a frosty December morning many years ago, sprouting — quite literally — from the roots of an old maple tree that grew near the water’s edge. Legend says that when the wind carried stories across the lake and whispered them into the snowy branches, one of those stories took root… and out popped a small elf with bright eyes, moss-green boots, and a berry-red cap.
Whimsically curious, StorySprout adores books, stories, and anything with a delicious plot twist. She travels with a tiny notebook made from dried grapevine leaves tucked beneath her cap, ready to capture every magical detail she encounters. Her voice is soft and musical, spoken in little jingles that only children and the most open-hearted adults can hear.
To StorySprout, every shop window is “a chapter waiting to be read,” every wreath has a tale, and every small business along Keuka holds a piece of the lake’s grand winter story. Throughout December, she wanders from village to village — perched in cafés, nestled into boutiques, hiding among florals, peeking out from bookshelves — gathering moments of kindness, creativity, community, and Christmas cheer.
Her mission is simple:
β¨ to collect the stories of the season,
β¨ to shine a light on the people and places she visits, and
β¨ to spread joy across the Keuka communities she loves.
By Christmas Eve, StorySprout ties all her gathered moments into one heartfelt tale — a reminder that our shared stories are the true magic of the holidays.
This December, follow along as StorySprout takes her annual journey across Keuka Lake.
