The Final Bunco Game at Arrowhead Creek

A Chapter Closes:

The Final Bunco Game at Arrowhead Creek

Some chapters close quietly.
Others close with laughter echoing across a room, dice clattering against a table, and the kind of hugs that linger just a little longer because everyone knows — this one is special.

This Sunday marks the final Bunco game at Arrowhead Creek on Waneta Lake, and what a treasured little tradition it has become. Month after month, Regina has turned an ordinary game night into something extraordinary — a gathering place, a heartbeat, a ritual stitched into the fabric of our small-town lives.

Bunco nights weren’t just about the game.

They were about us — the community of women who showed up, whether carrying the weight of the week or floating on a high, and always leaving lighter, fuller, happier.

There were the familiar faces who felt like home.
There were the newer ones, a little nervous at first, who quickly realized Regina had a gift — that rare ability to make everyone feel like they belonged before they even sat down. Somehow she always knew what to say, where to pull up an extra chair, how to weave newcomers into the conversation so seamlessly that friendships blossomed in minutes.

And then there were the prizes — oh, the prizes!
Every winter it felt as though Regina had dipped into Santa’s workshop itself. Cozy candles, sparkly ornaments, festive décor, the kind of things you’d swear were hand-picked straight off a Christmas Wish List. None of us ever knew how she pulled it off, only that she did, and she did it with joy.

Arrowhead Creek’s Bunco nights became a little sanctuary — a place where everyday life paused, where the world felt warm and connected, where laughter rolled across the table like the dice themselves. It became a reminder that friendship isn’t found in grand gestures, but in simple, shared moments repeated over time.

As this chapter closes, we hold tight to the memories:
The inside jokes.
The friendly rivalries.
The new friendships that feel like they’ve always been there.
The way Regina greeted every person like she’d been waiting all week to see them.

And though Bunco night is ending, the community she created isn’t.
These bonds don’t disappear with the rolling of the final dice — they carry forward, into new traditions, new gatherings, new seasons of connection.

Here’s to Regina — for opening her door, her heart, and her tables.
Here’s to the women who showed up again and again, building something beautiful without even realizing it.

And here’s to Bunco night, a sweet little chapter of Waneta Lake life that will always sparkle in our memory like Christmas lights across the water.

A Note of Gratitude from Keuka Roots

From all of us at Keuka Roots, thank you, Regina, for building something that became so much more than a game night. You created a space where women felt seen, welcomed, and connected — a space rooted in laughter, kindness, and community. These evenings at Arrowhead Creek will be remembered not just for the prizes or the scorecards, but for the warmth you fostered and the friendships that continue to grow because of you.

Here’s to the stories shared, the memories made, and the community that remains — always rooted, always strong.

Stay Rooted. Stay Connected. And never underestimate the magic of women gathering around a table.
