Who We Are: The Heart Behind Keuka Roots

Welcome to Keuka Roots, a blog site rooted in the heart of the Finger Lakes — and growing branches far beyond. What started as a simple love for storytelling and community has blossomed into a space where readers from across America come to celebrate the people and places that make Keuka Lake and its surrounding towns truly magical.

At Keuka Roots, we believe that behind every shop, farm, small business, and local event lies something deeper — a story. A dream that took root. A hope pursued. Countless hours of hard work, creativity, and love poured into making something meaningful. These are more than just businesses or weekend happenings; they’re living stories of resilience, passion, and heart.

Through our blogs, we shine a light on the people who keep our communities thriving — the makers, dreamers, growers, and doers who remind us what it means to be connected to a place and to each other.

Keuka Roots is more than a publication. It’s a gathering place for those who believe in celebrating local spirit, nurturing creativity, and keeping the stories of small towns alive.

Because when we share these journeys, we’re not just telling stories — we’re honoring the roots that give life to our communities.

But our love for stories doesn’t stop at local communities. As a former marketing director for a small press, I have a big heart for indie and small press authors. That’s why we’re growing our online indie bookstore at Keuka Roots and adding exciting new projects to connect authors with readers who crave fresh voices and meaningful stories.

This winter, we’re launching The Winter Nook at Keuka Roots (November 28, 2025 – March 1, 2026) — a cozy, seasonal virtual bookstore showcasing standout reads from indie and small press authors. Perfectly timed for holiday reading and gift-giving, The Winter Nook gives authors the opportunity to reach over 100,000 potential readers each month through Keuka Roots,  Pamela S. Thibodeaux's Blog, and coordinated Facebook promotions.

But The Winter Nook is more than a seasonal bookstore — it’s a community-driven celebration of storytelling. It’s a place where readers can discover hidden gems, authors can connect with engaged audiences, and independent publishing can truly shine.

And the excitement continues into the new year with Keuka Reads, our virtual book club launching January 2026. Each month, members choose between two featured books from indie and small press authors and join guided online discussions, creating a space for deeper engagement, meaningful conversations, and connection with authors and fellow readers.

At Keuka Roots, our mission is simple: to celebrate unique voices, connect readers with meaningful stories, and build a space where independent publishing thrives — all while keeping the heart of our communities alive.

๐ŸŒฟ Keuka Roots — where heart, heritage, and storytelling meet.
