“Harvesting Stories: A Week at Keuka Roots

It’s been a busy — and beautiful — week at Keuka Roots! Coffee stayed hot, the kitchen was filled with comforting homemade meals, and the crisp fall air made every moment feel extra cozy. Between stirring pots and stirring up ideas, the week was packed with stories that remind us why we love this community so much.

We kicked things off by meeting The Neighbors — and wow! When family ties meet acoustic vibes, magic happens. This Bath-based band is a true local treasure, filling the air with harmony, heart, and hometown spirit. Listening to them is like gathering on a porch at sunset — warm, familiar, and full of stories.

A couple trips to The Windmill Farm and Craft Market were a treat, too. From fresh-baked goodies to rows of local artisans and friendly faces, The Windmill is pure Finger Lakes charm. Every visit feels like coming home, with new treasures (and treats!) waiting around every corner.

We also got to chat with author Sheri Nobles about her moving book, Hope and Comfort for Caregivers: Warriors in the Shadows. It’s a heartfelt reminder that even in life’s hardest seasons, hope can be built — one act of care at a time.

Exciting changes are coming to Milly’s Market! Denise Taylor shared, “We can’t wait to share the next chapter with you — full of sweetness, local flavor, and all the charm you’ve come to love at Milly’s Pantry!” And we can’t wait either!

Of course, fall wouldn’t be fall without a stop at Wager’s Cider Mill in Penn Yan. From the first sip of fresh cider to those famous melt-in-your-mouth donuts, it’s a family tradition we treasure. Bonus news: Wager’s Second Annual Apple Festival is happening Saturday, October 11th, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. — perfect for celebrating the season with local flavor and family fun.

From cozy kitchens to live music, local markets, and inspiring stories, it’s been a week full of flavor, creativity, and community here at Keuka Roots. Here’s to small moments, big memories, and the joy of coming together — see you next week!
