A Daydream Worth Planning:

Manor House Estate Wedding Showcase & Open House

There are some places around Keuka that seem to step right out of a storybook.

You turn down a country road, crest a hill, and suddenly find yourself standing somewhere that makes you pause for just a moment. The view stretches across rolling hills and sparkling water. The air feels a little quieter. The possibilities seem a little bigger.

That's exactly the feeling waiting at the upcoming Manor House Estate Wedding Showcase & Open House on Sunday, June 14th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Located high above Keuka Lake at 9204 County Route 76 in Hammondsport, NY Manor House Estate has quickly become one of the Finger Lakes' most breathtaking event destinations. With sweeping lake views, elegant event spaces, and a countryside charm that feels both timeless and welcoming, it's easy to see why couples are choosing this special venue to begin their next chapter.

Whether you're newly engaged, helping plan a wedding, dreaming about a future celebration, or simply curious to explore one of the region's hidden treasures, this event offers the perfect opportunity to experience the property firsthand.

For engaged couples, it is a chance to see how all the pieces of a wedding day come together. For others, it is simply an opportunity to spend an afternoon exploring one of the Finger Lakes' most beautiful properties.

A Setting Made for Memories

At Keuka Roots, we often talk about the places that become part of our stories.

A wedding venue is one of those places.

Long after the flowers fade and the music ends, people remember where they stood when they said "I do." They remember the laughter around the tables, the sunset views, the family gathered together, and the beginning of a new family history.

Manor House Estate offers a setting worthy of those memories.

The combination of countryside elegance, modern amenities, and iconic Keuka Lake views creates a backdrop that feels both sophisticated and deeply rooted in the beauty of our region.

About the Owners

For Art and Melissa Sable, Manor House Estate is more than a business venture—it is the realization of a dream rooted in family, community, and a deep love for the Keuka Lake region.

In 2012, the couple returned to Art's hometown of Hammondsport after years of living and building careers in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area. They purchased the historic 5,000-square-foot home overlooking Keuka Lake with a vision of transforming it into one of the Finger Lakes' premier wedding and event destinations.

Art brought with him an extensive background in business and real estate, having served as a Vice President of Commercial Real Estate Banking in the Baltimore and Washington markets. In 2021, he retired from the industry to focus on family, real estate development, and the operation of the couple's growing vacation rental and wedding businesses.

The Sables spent four years living in the home while thoughtfully renovating and upgrading the property. In 2016, after purchasing a nearby residence, they converted Manor House Estate into a year-round rental property. Their vision continued to expand with the development of the adjacent event center, creating a destination that now hosts weddings, celebrations, and unforgettable gatherings overlooking Keuka Lake.

Art's roots in the area run deep. He is one of six siblings, and today more than forty members of the extended Sable family call the region home. His parents relocated from New Jersey in 1972 and became well-known local business owners, purchasing Harbor Lights Marina and Lakeside Restaurant. After selling Lakeside in 1987, they later owned and operated The Waterfront Restaurant from 1994 until its recent sale in 2024. Their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to the community helped shape a family legacy that continues today.

Melissa's journey to the Finger Lakes began in northern Ohio near Sandusky, home of the famous Cedar Point amusement park. Her professional career has been equally impressive. After experiences working on Capitol Hill and teaching at the collegiate level, she began her career in psychology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. There, she advanced to Senior Staff before transitioning into private practice and later the Federal Veterans Administration system.

Today, Melissa balances her work as a psychologist with her roles as a wife, mother, and indispensable partner in the operation of Manor House Estate. Whether helping coordinate weddings, overseeing guest experiences, or managing the details behind the scenes, she plays an integral role in the continued success of the property.

Together, Art and Melissa have created something that reflects both their professional talents and their personal values—a place where families gather, couples begin new chapters, and guests experience the beauty and hospitality that make the Finger Lakes so special.

Like many of the stories we share at Keuka Roots™, the story of Manor House Estate is ultimately about coming home, investing in community, and building something meaningful for future generations.

And keep your eyes out—I have a feeling there is much more to come from this family. Their story, much like Manor House Estate itself, feels as though it is still being written.

A Keuka Roots Reflection

One of my favorite things about life around Keuka is how often ordinary roads lead to extraordinary places.

Manor House Estate sits among the hills that many of us have driven countless times, yet when you arrive, it feels as though you've just discovered something special tucked away just waiting to be shared. A bit of fairytale magic just waiting to be explored.

Perhaps that's what makes Keuka Lake so remarkable. Around every bend is another view, another story, another place where memories are waiting to be made.

If wedding bells are in your future—or even if you simply enjoy discovering beautiful places around Keuka—this showcase may be worth adding to your calendar.

After all, some stories begin with a single visit.

And sometimes, they begin with a view.
