“End of Summer” Open Photography Contest

Observing the transition from summer to fall through the lens of a camera—or a smartphone—offers a unique perspective. The subtle signs of approaching autumn begin to appear across the summer landscape as the season gradually comes to a close.

My friends at the Sun, The KeukaSun, HornellSun and WellsvilleSun, are excited to announce entries are now being accepted for their 2025 End of Summer Photo Contest!

The contest is open to anyone (amateurs and professionals!), free to enter, and the rules are simple. Oh, and the prizes are great thanks to their generous contest sponsors! Share your perspective on summer’s final curtain call by entering your photo for a chance to win one, along with ‘bragging rights’ of course!

A panel of experts, including Dan Jordan, Melanie Hunt, and Craig Braack, have been convened to determine the winners. The results will be published on the KeukaSun.com HornellSun.com, and WellsvilleSun.com. Winners will receive notification via email.

The contest closes on September 23rd, so don’t delay! Snap away! And to my Keuka Roots friends, let’s give them the very best of Keuka! And what a simple task is that! Keuka never fails us! Let's show them why Keuka and its surrounding communities are the heart of the Finger Lakes!

On to the prizes! The Sun crew sends a huge thanks to their presenting sponsor, Hickory Hill Camping Resort and their friends at Racalto’s Restaurant, Stillwater Pizza & Grill, Giant Food Mart, and Mystic Media Dot Com, for their generosity in helping them bring you The End of the Summer Photo Contest!
