November Takes Flight at the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum

Where history hangs from the rafters and the holiday spirit glides in on polished wings

There’s a certain hush that settles over Hammondsport in November — the kind of quiet that belongs to hangars and history. The hills soften under late-autumn light, the air carries the scent of woodsmoke, and down on Route 54, the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum stands ready for another season of wonder. Inside, the echoes of early engines mingle with the laughter of visitors discovering how innovation once roared to life right here along Keuka Lake.

🕰️ A Marketplace with a Vintage Heart

Saturday, November 22, 2025 — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Step inside and you’ll find more than history. On this special day, the Curtiss Museum transforms into a holiday marketplace straight out of another era — where handmade treasures and local artistry take center stage. The Holiday Market brings together artisans, crafters, and creative spirits offering everything from hand-poured candles to heirloom ornaments, soaps, and sweets that recall simpler times.

Every purchase supports a local maker — every smile feels like a small engine revving toward community spirit. And with $5 admission (which includes full museum access, with children under 6 and military members receiving free admission), it’s the kind of day where nostalgia and neighborly joy meet beneath the graceful wings of history. It is a family day like no other!

🛩️ Vendors, there’s still time to board the plane!

Spaces remain for artisans and creators who’d like to be part of this totally unique Holiday Market experience — a one-day event that pairs local handmade and handcrafted goods with the timeless backdrop of early aviation. Imagine your table nestled among gleaming motorcycles, seaplanes, and classic craftsmanship — a marketplace like no other in the Finger Lakes.

Hurry because there are only a few spots left. Visit
glennhcurtissmuseum.org/holiday-market for details and registration.

✈️ Wander Through Time

Between vendor tables, take a moment to stroll among Curtiss’s legendary machines — gleaming motorcycles, early seaplanes, and vintage bicycles that tell the story of a man who dared to dream of flight long before it was ordinary. The museum’s spacious galleries glow softly under November light, offering a perfect refuge from the chill outside.

Winter hours began November 1, with doors open from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. daily, giving visitors a little more room to wander, linger, and imagine what it must have been like when engines first kissed the sky.

🌲 Why November Feels Different Here

Maybe it’s the rhythm of propellers, maybe it’s the quiet pride of a small town that once helped the world take flight. Whatever it is, the Curtiss Museum in November feels grounded and soaring all at once. It’s a place where families gather, history buffs linger, and holiday shoppers find gifts with stories stitched in.

So bundle up, bring a friend or your entire family, and make it a Keuka Roots kind of outing — one part history, one part holiday, and all heart.
