Spooktacular Saturday at The Windmill Farm & Craft Market

Fall magic, handmade treasures,

ο»Ώand a little Halloween mischief!

There’s something about late October that feels like a spell — the air tingles with change, the hillsides glow in pumpkin and copper, and everything seems touched by just a hint of magic. This Saturday, I’m following that feeling straight to The Windmill Farm & Craft Market for their Halloween celebration!

I can already imagine it: the crunch of leaves underfoot, the scent of cider and cinnamon swirling through the Windmill, and that joyful hum of people bundled in sweaters, sipping something warm, and smiling at the simple wonder of it all. The Windmill always feels special — but at Halloween? It’s downright enchanting.

πŸ§™‍♀️ Witches Take the Stage

I’m especially excited to see the Witches of the Southern Tier!

They’ll be dancing through the market in all their spooky, sparkly glory — brooms in hand, capes flowing, and plenty of mischief in the air. I’ve heard they bring laughter, rhythm, and just enough “hocus pocus” to make you forget you’re not actually in a storybook.

I plan to grab a mug of hot cider and find a good viewing spot — because something tells me their performance will be the highlight of the day.

🍬 Tricks, Treats, and Market Magic

And yes, there’s trick-or-treating!

The Windmill’s vendors will be handing out goodies, and I can’t wait to see all the little ghosts, goblins, and giggling pumpkins wander from shop to shop collecting sweets. There’s something so heartwarming about seeing families together — kids in costumes, parents with cameras, everyone laughing and just… being present. It’s small-town Halloween at its very best.

πŸ“Έ Fall Photo Contest Fun

You know I’ll have my camera ready! The Windmill is a photographer’s dream this time of year — bright pumpkins stacked high, handmade fall décor in every corner, and that perfect golden glow that only autumn can create.

I’m planning to snap a few photos for The Windmill’s Fall Photo Contest, too. (If you haven’t heard — they’re offering prizes and a feature on KeukaRoots.com!). I’ll probably end up taking way too many pictures, but really, can you have too much fall magic?

🍁 Making a Day of It

My plan is simple: wander, sip, smile, repeat. I’ll start with a pumpkin donut and coffee, linger over the handcrafted treasures, watch the witches dance, and maybe pick up a few early Christmas gifts — because honestly, who can resist those cozy candle booths and handmade goodies?

Days like this are what autumn in the Finger Lakes is all about — community, creativity, and just enough whimsy to make you feel like a kid again.
