🌱✨ StorySprout’s Morning of Color & Creativity

A Whimsical Visit to the Arts Center of Yates County

Where inspiration sparkles, creativity blooms, and tiny magic finds its way between the paintbrushes.

Today, StorySprout began her day with not one, but two sparkling appearances — and her first stop brought her right into the heart of Penn Yan’s creative community.

If you’ve walked along Main Street in winter, you already know the feeling: warm lights glowing from historic windows, snowflakes dusting the sidewalks, and that gentle hush that makes creativity come alive. It’s the perfect place for a little elf of wonder and whimsy to land.

And today… she chose somewhere special.

🔍 Can You Guess Where She Is?

Before StorySprout revealed her morning hideaway, she left three fluttering clues:

🎨 Clue 1: A place where canvases bloom, pottery spins, and inspiration hangs on every wall.

🖼️ Clue 2: A gathering space where artists teach, learn, and lift each other — from watercolor to mixed media and everything in between.

🏛️ Clue 3: A historic Main Street building filled with light… and maybe a tiny sparkle perched between the paintbrushes.

With clues like these, the answer could only be…

🌟 The Arts Center of Yates County!

A creative cornerstone. A community hub. A place where art lives, breathes, and welcomes all.

The moment StorySprout stepped inside, she felt it — the warm glow of creativity, the hush of admiration in the Flick Gallery, and the gentle hum of imagination drifting upstairs to the Rosenfeld Studio.

Today, she tip-toed along the edges of bright canvases, peeked into pottery displays, and even perched on a tiny easel, watching artists bring winter stories to life through their work.

She left behind a few sparkles (as she does) and one of her tiny scrolls — a reminder to every visitor that creativity belongs to everyone.

But before she dashed off for stop number two, she wanted to share something especially close to her heart…

🖼️ ✨ Business Spotlight: The Arts Center of Yates County

Located at 127 Main Street in Penn Yan, The Arts Center of Yates County is more than a gallery — it’s a living, breathing creative community.

Here’s why it holds a special place in StorySprout’s heart (and in the heart of Keuka Roots):

🌿 A Gallery That Glows with Local Talent

The Flick Gallery displays works from dozens of regional artists — painters, photographers, ceramicists, jewelry makers, woodworkers, fiber artists, and beyond. Every visit feels like a fresh discovery, with rotating exhibits that reflect the seasons, the region, and the stories of the Finger Lakes.

🎨 Workshops & Classes for All Ages

Upstairs, the Rosenfeld Studio is a hive of hands-on inspiration. From guided painting sessions to pottery workshops and specialty classes, the Arts Center gives beginners and seasoned creatives alike a chance to play, grow, and express themselves.

It’s a space where mistakes are welcome, curiosity is encouraged, and community grows one brushstroke at a time.

🤝 A Hub for Community Connection

The Arts Center hosts events, First Friday receptions, outreach programs, and seasonal activities — all rooted in their mission to nurture creativity and strengthen our region’s cultural landscape. Whether you’re an artist, a visitor, or a curious wanderer, there’s always something magical happening here.

🛍️ A Gift Shop Filled with Handmade Treasures

Perfect for holiday shopping or year-round giving, the gallery boutique highlights unique, handcrafted pieces you won’t find anywhere else. From ornaments to jewelry to framed artwork, it’s a “shop small” gem for locals and travelers alike.

🌱 StorySprout’s Scroll

Before she fluttered away, she tucked this tiny verse into a paintbrush cup:

“Where colors dance and dreams take flight,

your hands make wonder come to light.

Create with joy — the world needs your bright.” 🌟

~StorySprout

StorySprout’s journey continues this evening with her second stop of the day, and she can’t wait to share where her tiny boots take her next. (It may even stream live!)

Until then…
