The Magic of Fall
Pumpkins, Music, and Memories: A Day with Friends and Neighbor
This past weekend, I had the joy of attending a fall festival practically in my own backyard. It was the very first year Tracy and her husband, Rob Tremaine—owners of LWL Gift Shop and Tremaine Landscaping—decided to host the event. Whether it was the charm of our small-town setting or the touch of seasonal magic Tracy and Rob brought to life, the moment I arrived I knew something special was in the air.
Thirty-nine vendors bustled about as tables snapped together, bins were unloaded, and colorful displays came alive. Even though the treetops haven’t quite reached their peak autumn splendor, Tracy and Rob had spent days transforming their outdoor space into a cozy fall retreat. Everywhere I looked, mums in every shade soaked up the September sun, while hay bales, corn stalks, and pumpkins added that perfect harvest welcome. It was the kind of scene that makes you slow down, breathe a little deeper, and just savor the season.
The two pole barns quickly filled with cheerful chatter as vendors set out everything from fresh-baked goods and local maple syrup to the much-talked-about Legendary Super Sauce. Handmade crafts and artwork lined the tables, each one adding its own sparkle of charm to the day. In true small-town fashion, there was even a taxidermist or two, and the DEC was on hand to share knowledge and advice. Tracy and Rob organized an amazing raffle to lend support to our brave champions battling cancer.
The kids, of course, were in heaven. A giant bounce house and slide kept them busy for hours, and when they needed a break, there were goats to pet, pumpkins to paint, and faces waiting for a swirl of color. Their giggles and smiles were contagious—the kind that instantly carry adults back to childhood.
And what’s a festival without food? A sweet couple was busy frying up fresh donuts (nothing beats one while it’s still warm, am I right?). There were slushies and lemonade with that county-fair charm, and Waters Catering served up a chicken BBQ so delicious it sold out completely.
Music floated through the air all afternoon thanks to Ethan Wooley, whose rich voice carried beloved Country and Rock classics across the festival grounds. He’s got the kind of sound that makes you stop in your tracks—honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nashville comes calling one day.
Every so often, I stepped off to the side just to take it all in. Those are the moments when I see and feel the most—laughter carried on the breeze, warm hugs exchanged, neighbors catching up, and joy practically painting the landscape. What Tracy and Rob created was so much more than a fall festival. They gave our little town a gift: a reminder that community, friendship, and shared joy are the things that make life truly beautiful. Thank you, Tracy and Rob. So happy to call you a neighbor!
